At very low energies of astrophysical interest, the "Be(p, p) B reaction is almost totally peripheral. Consequently, the overall normalization of the cross section for this reaction is de6ned by the asymptotic normalization coe%cient of the bound-state wave function of B in the two-body channel Be+p. The reaction Be( He, d) B is suggested as a tool to measure this asymptotic normalization coefficient thereby allowing one to define the absolute value of the astrophysical factor, Siq (0) , for
