A novel center-fed coaxial-to-substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) transition and a planar-choke structure is proposed to improve 2×2 microstrip patch antenna (MPA) array performance at 60 GHz. The presented antenna exhibits 20 dB and 10 dB improvement in front-to-back ratio (FTBR) and co-to-cross polarization levels in the radiation pattern, respectively. The evaluated bandwidth is 1 GHz around 60 GHz which shows 100% enhancement. The aperture area of the antenna is miniaturized by
