Summary The intention of the following dissertation was the integration of the Cephalosporin substance group in the CliniPharm/CliniTox project of the Institute of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology of the Vetsuisse faculty, University of Zurich. CliniPharm/CliniTox is a computer-based information and consultancy system for the veterinarian pharmacotherapy and toxicology, which was started in 1988 and has been extended and updated continuously since then. The system, which is avaliable on the Internet on http://www.clinipharm.ch/, enables practising veterinarians a fast access to clearly laid out information on different substances. This work extends the database with the substance class of Cephalosporins. The properties of most of the substances in this group are described in detail in the chapter named "Cephalosporin". In the entry for each single substance the information is restricted to the specific properties and a reference to the common part is included.
