The 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea as an Agreement Solving Some Issues with Aspects of Strategic Importance

The purpose of this article is to focus mainly on two aspects, which the author considers to be aspects of strategic importance. The first is to study the legal regulation of marine scientific research in the exclusive economic zone and on the continental shelf. The second is to examine the regime of the exploitation of the continental shelf beyond 200 nautical miles from the baselines from which the breath of the territorial sea is measured.
