ACALYPHA FRUTICOSA AS CORROSION INHIBITOR FOR MILD STEEL IN ACID MEDIUM
2015
International Journal of Chemical & Petrochemical Technology (IJCPT) ISSN(P
unpublished
The inhibition efficiency of the extract of Acalypha fruticosa for the corrosion of mild steel in 1N H 2 SO 4 was investigated by weight loss, Potentiodynamic polarization, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) techniques. The results indicate that leaves of AF serve as a good corrosion inhibitor of mixed type with efficiency as high as 97.92 % at 0.3% inhibitor concentration.
