This paper aims at evaluating the quality of the data in reference to the gestational age variable (IG) in the Information System of Live Births (SINASC), provided by a hospital maternity school. This hospital maternity, in Teresina, Piauí, Brazil, reported SINASC a 56.4% of live hospital births of resident mothers in the municipality in 2002.
