THE SOCIOLOGICAL VIEW OF A LATE-MODERN INDIVIDUAL'S IDENTITY

The passage into a late modern society means the exclusion of a person from his traditional relations, religious systems and social relationships. To an individual the exposure to risks, which were unknown to the traditional pre-modern society, represent vulnerability, especially regarding interpersonal relationships and the possibility of one's selfmodernization. This manifests itself in a form of numerous emotional distresses and thus consequently can make personal distresses a sociological, aggregate phenomenon as well as individual mental health problem.
