Pinball billiards with dominated splitting
2009
Ergodic Theory and Dynamical Systems
We study the dynamics of a type of nonconservative billiards where the ball is "kicked" by the wall giving a new impulse in the direction of the normal. For different types of billiard tables we study the existence of attractors with dominated splitting. Question 4. Which is the bifurcation process in the one parameter family described in Subsection 5.4, that leads from a non-hyperbolic dynamics to a hyperbolic one?
