Benchmarking has been conceived as an important activity and adopted very frequently in many website renewal projects as well as development projects. In real practice, it has greatly helped figure out the strengths and weaknesses of the current website and, more importantly, elicit improvement requirements by comparing their services and features with competitors' websites.
