Scholar Critic Literature: An Effective Tool to Enrich Language Skills of Undergraduate Students

Use of literature in the context of English as Second Language(ESL)/English as Foreign Language(EFL) has been one of the productive ways to enrich language skills of the learners. Literature has been a subject of study, in many countries round the globe, at secondary/tertiary level. Furthermore, it improves language awareness and encourages interaction and sharing feelings among the learners. The main aim of the paper is to explore some of the ways and means through which literature can be best exploited for language teaching and learning. It also presents some of the advantages teachers have when using literature for language teaching. The paper is concluded with some of the challenges teachers face while using literature in language classrooms.
