COORDINATION CHEMISTRY AND SOLAR FUEL PRODUCTION. Life on earth depends on the absorption and conversion of solar energy into chemical bonds, i.e. photosynthesis. In this process, sun light is employed to oxidize water into oxygen and reducing equivalents used to produce fuels.
