In this present scenario, learners use their memory skill to learn rather than the cognitive skill. This paper suggests the importance of cognitive skill in education and encourages learning through the inquisitive mind. The researcher aims to apply deconstruction as a tool for reading a text and enhance the cognitive skills of tertiary level learners. The main aim of this study is to make a change in the level of understanding or thinking among the learners.
