Conclusion. From the first days of Austria-Hungary's declaration of war against Russia, the territory of Right Bank Ukraine became a battleground of military actions. In August 1914, a series of armed clashes took place on the border zone of Volynska and Podilska provinces with a temporary seizure of territories. The greatest damage was caused to the population of Volyn, where a number of settlements were destroyed because of military actions. August battles on the territory of Podilia ended with insignificant material damage, a several days control over the provincial city Kamianets-Podilskyi, and moral-psychological trials. Kyiv province played behind the front lines role – no military operations took place on its territory, except airplane bombings.
