Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors have proven efficacy in the treatment of panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and social anxiety disorder. Accumulating data shows that selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor treatment can also be efficacious in patients with generalized anxiety disorder.
