... plying GFRP material to steel members would improve the buckling resistance and thereby the load carrying capacity by 40%. Local bucking was arrested and the columns were able to take 50% more load before reaching the critical yield point. Hence it is recommended to strengthen the CFS columns where ever dimensional restrictions are not present.
