Improved RMS Delay Spread Estimation for mmWave Channels Using Savitzky–Golay Filters
2019
Electronics
In this paper, a novel method for improving the estimation accuracy of the root mean square (RMS) delay spread from the magnitude of the Channel Transfer Function (CTF) is presented. We utilize the level crossing rate metric in the frequency domain, which is based on scalar power measurement. The Savitzky–Golay (S-G) filtering method is used to improve the fidelity of the channel delay spread estimator. The presented concept is simple to implement and inexpensive. The proposed method is tested
