Hysteresis Current Controllers Power Quality Improvement with Shunt and Hybrid APF Using PI and Hysteresis Current Controllers: Performance Comparison

This paper presents the performance comparison of Shunt Active Power Filter (SAPF) and Hybrid Active Power Filter (HAPF) for power quality improvement in terms of harmonics and reactive power compensation, and power factor improvement in the distribution network caused by nonlinear load. The Hybrid APF is designed with shunt APF with shunt connected single tuned passive filters. The switching pattern is generated through hysteresis current controller.
