The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of designing educational digital games on the creativity of teacher candidates. The study design is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control groups. The study group consisted of 25 students from primary school teaching department, 14 of which were the experimental group while 11 were the control group. In the experimental group, each student was asked to design a game related to the mathematics teaching each week throughout
... 4 weeks in mathematics course. In the control group, on the other hand, mathematics course was taught based on the curriculum. Verbal Form-A and Figural Form-A of the Torrance Test of Creative Thinking (TTCT) was used as the data collection tool in the study. Tests were applied to experimental and control groups before and after experimental application. Descriptive analysis of the data, U-test results of the pre-test and post-test scores, and Wilcoxon signed rank tests of the TTCT subscale scores in the pre-test and post-practice experiment and control groups were performed on the data. Findings show that there is a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the prospective teachers in the experimental group from all the subscales of the TTCT. On the other hand, verbal flexibility, verbal originality subdimensions, verbal total and figure total sub-dimensions were significantly different when compared to the group according to the results of the test scores of the subscales of TTCT.
