Obtainment of Jones matrix from Mueller-Jones matrix

Mueller matrix of a deterministic optical medium can be represented by a vector state which is an eigenstate of a Hermitian matrix. It is shown that by means of the Hermitian matrix it is possible to find the Jones matrix apart from its overall phase.
