Utilization of N-Carboxy-a-dehydroamino Acid Anhydride to Peptide Synthesis. Yasuchika YONEZAWA* and Chung-gi SHIN* Various kinds of N-carboxy-a-dehydroamino acid anhydrides (ƒ¢ NCA) were synthesized by the cyclization of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-a-dehydroamino acids , which were corresponded to the proteinic ƒ¿-amino acids, with thionyl chloride. The obtained ƒ¢ NCA derivatives were further applied to the syntheses of the other interesting α-dehydroamino acids and dehydropeptides , inclusive of a few naturally occurring dehydrooligopeptides.
