Currently, 2,5-dimethylfuran (DMF) has shown that it is a potential alternative fuel source to replace the traditional fuels such as gasoline and diesel. However, the combustion and emission properties of DMF have been rarely characterized, especially the using of DMF-gasoline blends in SI engines.
