The voting system accepted almost unanimously by the public opinion and also by the majority of Romanian parliamentarians was generically named "uninominal vote". By this system one understands a way of directly electing individual candidates and not voting for a whole list that is drawn up on more or less transparent criteria, by a party. The uninominal vote system is favorable to big political parties, generating an important amplification of the number of mandates for the party dominating the electoral confrontation.
