This paper presents topology optimization of electromagnetic metamaterial using the on/off method based on the Normalized Gaussian network (NGnet). In this work, the conductor shape printed on a dielectric slab of fixed dimensions is optimized to have a negative macroscopic permeability at a prescribed frequency band for realization of metamaterial.
