Many kinds of geographic information are available in Japan. Position errors of those have relation to errors of distances and areas. This paper deals with a method to estimate a distance denoted by 2 points on geographic information. First of all, a model for position errors and distances is introduced. Then, a method to estimate real distances using Bayes' theorem is proposed. Then case studies are done for situations typical in urban planning. The results show that estimated values are
