This paper develops a model using content analysis of chronological event texts to measure third party activity and their impact on outcomes from three case studies of international conflict: The 1990-91 Gulf War; The 1998 war in Kosovo; and the 2002 war in Afghanistan. Data was generated from each of the three conflicts and coded using the World Event Interaction Survey (WEIS).
