Platelets have a predominant role in the pathogenesis of Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS). It is believed that the mean platelet size, evaluated by the mean platelet volume (MPV), is a sensitive indicator of platelet reactivity and trombogenicity potential. Several studies have found associations between the MPV and the ACS or the occurrence of Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI). The reasons for this are not very well known, but may be due to platelet aggregation or consumption. The aim of this

All patients (N = 72) had an elevated MPV, mean of 11.57 fL. No statistically significance was found in the groups with different risk.
