The Alli (Nymphea nouchali Burm.f) is an aquatic herb, under the family Nymphaeaceae. As per Siddha classical literatures this plant possess astringent, refrigerant, antimicrobial actions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the phytochemical and antibacterial activities of the crude extract of rhizome and flowers of Alli (Nymphea nouchali Burm.f).
