Optimum equalizer for coherent radio receivers
Proceedings of 8th Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference on Industrial Applications in Power Systems, Computer Science and Telecommunications (MELECON 96)
A6st~act-A method is presented to determine the optimum equalizer for coherent communication systems in terms of minimum mean square error (MMSE). Two well-known T-spaced equalizer structures have been considered: Linear Trasversal Equalizer (LTE) and Decision Feedback Equalizer ( D F E ) . The method is based on numerical evaluation of tllr MMSE as a function of the rqualizer delay and complexity. Both LTE and DFE arc compared in the presence of radio cliannel examples assuming perfect channel estimation and syncronization.
