This study aimed at exploring the effectiveness of using the generative learning model in teaching the English Language for developing the creative writing skills among the secondary third year students. To achieve the goals of the study; the quasi-experimental (two groups) design was used, and a test was designed for the creative writing in English in the light of the list of the general and private skills. After setting the exam; it had been applied to a sample consisting of (70) students in
more » ... f (70) students in the third year of the secondary school, (35) for the experimental group and (35) for the controlling group. The experimental group was taught by using the generative learning model; meanwhile the controlling group was taught by using the traditional method. Then the test was applied before and after experimentation after making sure of the two samples homogeneity. By using the appropriate statistical processes and the ratios gain; statistical significant differences were conducted between the means of the degrees of the students of experimental group and the means of the degrees of the students of the controlling group in the post application of the general and private skills (separately) for the creative writing in English, and there were statistical significant differences between the means of the degrees of the students of the experimental group in the post and preapplications of the general and private skills (separately) for the creative writing in English. In the light of the study results; the researcher recommended the following: giving more concentration for using the generative learning models that connect originality to contemporary in teaching the language for developing the skills of the linguistic acquisition and the creativity in learning the English language as a second language. The importance of preparing the teacher's guide to show the mechanism of using the generative learning model in teaching the language skills as a second language. Introducing training programs and practical workshops to help English language teachers in all educational stages using the generative learning model in teaching the English language as a second language. For further studies, the researcher suggested: the effectiveness of using the generative learning model in solving problems of writing in English language in the elementary and the intermediate stages.
