The purpose of this study was to find the characteristics of full-time athletic trainers who are certified by the Japan Sport Association. Our results showed that 82.4% of the survey respondents were male, working for professional sports in prefectures with a large population, with some type of healthcare professional license. The median annual income of these full-time athletic trainers was 3,100,000-4,000,000 yen. These data will help serve as a basis for further improvement in athletic
