This study explores the current state of groundwater chemistry and pollution by nitrate-nitrogen on Laura Island, Majuro Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands. The nitrogen load from various land-use types was calculated and its effect on groundwater evaluated to develop countermeasures to protect the freshwater lens on the island.
