On the Convective Excitation of Torsional Oscillations in Rotating Systems
An asymptotic theory is presented to describe the possible mechanism for the excitation and maintenance of torsional oscillations in rotating convective stars and planets. It is demonstrated analytically that the torsional oscillations can be excited and sustained by global thermal convection.doi:10.1086/500830 fatcat:7lb6m54krfa55go56zxjtrrpti
