In contemporary conditions recreation and tourism are perspective development directions of many regions in the Russian Federation. ... t. The authors consider methodological issues of recreation potential estimation for mapping. At present this direction is not studied enough. There is a problem to choose the method of recreation potential estimation that lets makes decisions at the regional and local levels. As a result of recreation potential estimation of Novosibirsk Region the most attractive for investment in tourism and recreation municipalities and elaborated recommendations for specific land use by mapping and compilation of tourist maps were revealed. The estimation results of recreation potential in municipalities are used for the development of the Strategy of socio-economic development of Novosibirsk Region till 2030.
