It permits women and boys to be employed over-time one hour per day, provided that the total hours of labor for the week do not exceed 54; but they must not be kept longer at work than four hours on the sixth day. An exemption from the operation of the law is made for canning factories between June 15 and October 15, during which period it will be lawful to exact 60 hours of labor per week.
