Hyperscanning is a brand-new research method that aims to reveal the neural basis of communication by measuring the brain activity of two participants simultaneously during communication. The method is characterized by the calculation of correlation of brain activity between the two participants. This research method is occasionally met with the reaction that it is unscientific or not meaningful.
