more » ... ances, the first mediation level investigates the virtual modification of existing interfaces while the second undertakes their abstraction in order to recreate them in a form of augmented reality. The last mediation level draws upon the task's artifacts and disseminates the interfaces' functionalities directly into the environment. We present for each of these mediation levels an analysis of their characteristics, an evaluation of their advantages for task support and our most recent experiments. Finally, we highlight the similarities and differences between these mediation levels to guide designers in their selection.
