Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) denotes to two principal groups of chronic relapsing inflammatory intestinal disorders including ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD). Medications are considered as the first-line of treatment in IBD management. Surgery as the second line of therapy is considered for patients who are intolerant to medications, but response rates continue to remain suboptimal and it is necessary to assess environmental factors such as diet that may not only help
