The article presents the analysis of the specialized beef cattlebreeding in the Urals Federal District of the Russian Federation: Chelyabinsk Region, Tyumen Region (without autonomous districts), Sverdlovsk Region, Kurgan Region, the structure and species composition of the livestock. Studies are presented for the periods from 2016 to 2018. So, the largest increase in livestock of cattle of specialized meat breeds is observed in the Sverdlovsk region where an increase amounted to 37, the total
more » ... d to 37, the total number of cattle reached 3056 heads. The number of cattle in the Kurgan region grew by 28 and amounted to 9873 heads. In the Tyumen region, the livestock of cattle specialized meat breeds increased by 5.8, and in 2018 it amounted to 14032 heads. In the Chelyabinsk Region, the number of specialized beef cattle decreased by 17.4, while the region remained the leader in the Urals Federal District of the Russian Federation with 34046 heads 0of beef cattle. The leader in the number of breeding stock of specialized beef cattle is the Chelyabinsk region, with 15,692 cows in 2018. The Tyumen region ranks the second with 6563 cows. The Kurgan and Sverdlovsk regions have a breeding stock of 4552 and 1552, respectively. The main, and sometimes the only breed in the Sverdlovsk and Chelyabinsk regions is the Hereford breed. The bigger diversity of beef cattle is noted in the Kurgan and Tyumen regions.
