Kinetics and mechanism of oil and oil products sorption from water surface onto pyrolyzed waste biomass

In the present study an attempt was made to describe the kinetics and mechanism of oil and oil products sorption from aqueous surface on pyrolyzed rice husks. The pseudo-first order and second order kinetic models, Elovich equation and intraparticle diffusion model were applied to describe the kinetics and estimate the rate-limiting stage of the process.
