EL SISTEMA GRÁFICO DE LA MÚSICA DE LA TRADICIÓN OCCIDENTAL: UN LUGAR PARA EL DESARROLLO DEL PENSAMIENTO MUSICAL
2014
Forma y Función
The origin of musical notation is marked by a transfer of thought between geometry and music; therefore, the score constitutes a "music-world" whose objects are thought, measured, and organized hierarchically. Music and mathematics have in common notation in the form of diagrams; both think and calculate through letters, numbers, figures, and gestures. Musical activity is marked by the distancing typical of the relationship to writing, which is necessary for the development of reflection.
