Although the financial channels do not hold a significant position in interstate wars as their finances are drawn from the state directly but in case of insurgencies, the financial support forms the backbone of insurgency as it cannot flourish without viable financial channels. In Afghanistan, drug industry has gained a pivotal role by becoming the funding source for insurgency with the passage of time. It is therefore necessary that Narco-traders, forming the financial vein of insurgency, be treated as core parties in U.S-Taliban negotiation process. Therefore, eliminating drug trafficking in Afghanistan equals rooting out terrorism from the region.
