This paper reports the results of a survey on the activities and applications of Quality Engineering Approaches in Japanese companies. There was a similar paper reported by Antje Peters of MIT in 1994 from the similar survey for the US companies. Our survey targeted about 170 Japanese companies which involve the Quality Engineering activities.
