MSITT, MBIT 2006-2007 Orientation Day 2006 Career Days On 18 and 19 September 2006, 224 interviews were conducted by 21 ITC, major HR companies and banks with 30 AIT graduating students at its state-of-the-art Campus Peania. Following a presentation on AIT and its activities, the participating companies toured the complete facility and research labs: Autonomic and Grid Computing; High Speed Networks and Optical Communications; Broadband Wireless and Sensor Networks; Software Engineering and WEB Applications; and Algorithms and Security. AIT's Career Office has achieved a 90% employment rate for its students within two months of their graduation from its MSIN, MSITT and MBIT programs, while other students continue their graduate studies at Carnegie Mellon University, or at other universities elsewhere in the world. The Career Days event is an opportunity for the students to come into direct contact with ITC companies which are also searching to improve the caliber of their staff. AIT provides its graduates with the skills and expertise to meet these demands thereby increasing their chances of employment in a sector with a high degree of mobility and competition. The participating companies were impressed with and praised the students on their scientific background, specialization, professionalism, qualifications and readiness to enter the international labor market. AIT Prof T. Dimitriou was the organizer and scientific coordinator of PRACSE 2006 (an annual workshop). The aim of this workshop is to provide a forum for continued activity in the area, to allow the interaction between security researchers and professionals and to give attendees the opportunity to network with experts in the field.
