Children with autism have many problems in phonological awareness, which results in impairment in understanding and comprehending language and their ability to form linguistic concepts, whether at the physical or abstract level, and the study aims to determine the effect of phonological awareness on the formation of linguistic concepts for children with autism. The study sample consisted of (30) children with autism whose ages ranged between (6-9) years, and they were divided into three groups
more » ... ccording to the scores they obtained in the Phonological Awareness Scale, the first group with the lowest level of scores, and the second group with the average level , And the third group with the highest level of scores. The quasi-experimental approach was used, and the study tools consisted of the Gilliam Estimated Scale to diagnose the symptoms and severity of Autism 3rd Edition (by Gilliam and Arabization of Mohammed, Abu Al-Majd 2020), the Phonological Awareness Scale (Mohammed Preparation, 2020), and the Linguistic Concept Formation Scale for Children with Autism (Researchers Preparation) And the results of this study resulted in a positive, statistically significant relationship between degrees of phonological awareness and degrees of formation of linguistic concepts in children with autism, and it is also possible to predict a statistically significant degree at the level of children with autism in forming linguistic concepts from their degrees in phonological awareness. Phonological awareness has a statistically significant positive effect on the formation of language perceptions in children with autism.
