The Information Systems Discipline's Identity Under Construction: Mining AISWorld

The conversation about the identity of the Information Systems (IS) discipline has been around since its inception. Scholars have taken either deductive or inductive approaches to explore and discuss their proposed identity of the discipline. This research-in-progress takes the first step to contribute to the conversation by exploring the evolving identity of the discipline and its boundaries over the past years. The preliminary findings depict eight main topics making the identity of the IS discipline and their evolution over the years. The paper concludes with future steps for this research-in-progress.
