We present a simple iterative pre-distortion algorithm for achieving a rapid linear frequency sweep of semiconductor lasers. The algorithm achieves the desired frequency swept linearity with only four iterations. We derive a general formula for iterative pre-distortion by establishing the relationship between the laser output frequency and the drive current.
