For the first time, the Voyage pittoresque of Saint-Non offered an image of landscapes suited to the romantic perception of the sublime, the result of a peculiar interpenetration between the work of man and a very varied and magnificently "wild" nature. Today, much of that perception is compromised, if not irretrievably lost. Will it be possible to recover, revitalizing a landscape so characterized and fascinating?
