A Study on Changing WTP according to People's Perception of the Park Status

While considering demographic characteristics, we analyzed the survey data using the frequency analysis, cross-tabulations, ANOVA, the multiple regression analysis, ordered logit regression analysis. The result showed that most Korean citizens have low WTP regarding neighborhood parks while showing high WTP regarding national urban parks. The majority take for granted neighborhood parks to consider the payment for parks' construction and management as their duty. On the other hand, they are
more » ... ing to pay for the construction and management of national parks(including national urban parks), deemed to have a higher value at least for its worth to be conserved or just existed as parks. Given this differing WTP according to people's perception, this study suggests that the communication with local people is the key to maintain parks with their participation and support.
