Complex of gold of the composition [AuL(NO 2)] (1), where HL is a new tridentate ligand obtained by the condensation of two dimethylglyoxime (H 2 DMG) molecules on the matrix of the gold ion, was synthesized and characterized by X-ray structural analysis. It was shown that in the system H[AuCl 4 ]. 4Н 2 О + H 2 DMG + Py, depending on pH of the reaction medium and sequence of addition of components, the final products have unexpected compositions ([Au III (DMG)ClPy], [AuCl 2 Py 2 ][AuCl 4 ].
