The work focuses on the design and the modeling of single and dual channels optical communication systems that use lightwaves as a carrier for signal transmission. This is to study characteristics and conduct performance evaluation and analysis of the designed communication subsystems through the use of different data transmission and reception techniques. Optisystem simulation software is used as a powerful simulation tool in the development of optical system modules, which include the transmitter that converts signal to light, fiber-optic channel, and the receiver that converts light back to the original signal.
